The Almighty says: “The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give Zakaah and do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided.”
At Dar Al Qalam, we are always pursuing opportunities that will ensure our success in our mission to build a dynamic, respected and prosperous Muslim community through the practice of Islamic values. We strive to be a center that produces a community of learners that are striving to increase their understanding of Islam and are bonded by the heart. We appreciate and understand that the availability and condition of our facilities directly impacts our ability to provide efficient and effective services to our community. It is proven knowledge that students who are given the opportunity to learn and perform in schools under good conditions outperform students that learn in substandard buildings. We also understand that our children and youth having physical spaces for exercise and team-building activities will boost both their body and brain function and lead to better performance in school.
In the past few years, we have been experiencing steady and substantial growth in both our Masjid space, as well as in our Pre-K a Kindergarten classes. We have also seen and heard from our wonderful community members a need to increase the classes we offer up to the 5th grade. We hope is to capitalize on this growth and continue providing an exceptional level of education and services. To do that, we have produced a plan to purchase the adjacent plot of land and convert it to a new playground, a basketball court, and an additional parking lot. We want to provide our students the opportunity to partake in standard extracurricular activities, sports, and clubs. We also plan to hire more qualified instructors to fill any gaps and perform much needed classroom renovations that will lead to the improvement of the students’ physical learning environments.
