About Us
We owe all our peace and blessings to Allah (swt), may He be pleased with us.
Dar Al Qalam Center was established in 2012 by a group of dedicated teachers and community members that saw the need for a center that serves as a religious and educational hub for the communities of Minneapolis. We are humbled and proud of our community’s continuous and growing commitment to the center. In the last decade, the Most Gracious (swt) has allowed us to build an environment that embodies the Qur’an, the sunnah, and the love of Allah (swt) and His Prophet (saw). Our center’s mission is to build a dynamic, respected and prosperous Muslim community through the practice of Islamic values. We do this by:
- Consistently holding regular Islamic congregational prayers and Islamic religious festivals, when appropriate,
- Promoting mutual understanding and friendly relations between Muslims and non-Muslims in order to foster peace, justice, harmony, and cooperation with other organizations and communities,
- Conducting and engaging in various social, charitable, and cultural activities to promote entertainment within the realm of Islamic tradition,
- Establishing and maintaining a highly effective educational institution that provides a solid foundation for our children and youth through a pre-school, kindergarten, after school program, and weekend religious school,
- Enjoining youth towards good behavior, charitable acts, self-improvement and encourage positive contributions to society,
- Providing essential services to our community such as counseling, wedding officiation, skill-building workshops, and various other community resources.
The Qur’an places a massive emphasis on community, as does Dar Al Qalam Center. We rely on our network of diverse, educated, and committed members to achieve our set goals and fulfill our purpose. We are incredibly thankful for this growing community and are humbled to be able to provide them access to equitable resources and educational services.
